As the first Vocaloid, his VB is understandably rough and unpolished. Leon (first Vocaloid ever made, designed to sing soul, although he can sing just about anything, provided the user knows how to properly mix and edit.The English Vocaloids include the first Vocaloid ever made. Engloids are Vocaloids whose first (meaning their primary voicebank, not an append) language is English, hence why Megurine Luka (the first bilingual Vocaloid) is not present, as her primary voicebank is Japanese and her English VB is relatively low-quality (it was a last-minute add-on, after learning that the seiyuu (voice provider) could speak English. While the most popular Japanese Vocaloids are coming out with English voicebanks, they will not be included here. The truth is, all Vocaloids sound like this, you just can't hear it in the Japanese Vocaloids because you can't understand what they're saying. They sound as though they are of lesser quality because English-speaking fans can understand what they're saying, and therefore it is easier to distinguish that the singer isn't human. Many fans refuse to listen to them, saying they "just aren't as good." This is, in fact, not true. While not nearly as popular as Japanese Vocaloids, and not nearly as many in number, English Vocaloids are just as great.
